This policy explains which personal data CV Makes (cvmakes.com, “we”) processes when you use our resume builder, CV examples and AI tools, why we process it and the choices you have.

Data we process

  • Account data: your name, email address and a hashed password when you register.
  • CV content: everything you enter in the builder, such as contact details, work history, education, skills and photo. It is stored in your account only when you save a CV.
  • AI requests: the text you send to AI features (text improvement, CV drafts, CV translation and CV analysis). For CV analysis, the text of your PDF is extracted in your browser and sent to us; we do not store the file or its text.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type and the actions you take (for example “CV created” or “PDF downloaded”). Usage events are recorded only after you accept analytics cookies; requests to AI features are always logged with IP address and browser type to keep the service secure.

Why we use it

We use this data to provide and secure the service, to run the AI features you request, to send account emails such as password resets and — only with your consent — to measure how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

AI processing

AI features are powered by Google’s Gemini API. The text you submit is sent to Google to generate the result. Please do not include information you do not want processed, such as health details or identity numbers.

Cookies and analytics

Essential storage keeps you signed in, remembers your language and stores your cookie choice. With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and feature usage. Google Analytics is not loaded before you accept, advertising features are turned off and its data is kept for 14 months.

You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

  • Google (Gemini API, Google Analytics)
  • Cloudflare (content delivery and security)
  • Resend (account emails)
  • Our hosting and database providers, which store account and CV data

Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

Account data and saved CVs are kept until you delete them or your account; you can delete your account at any time in Settings. Usage and security logs are kept as long as needed for statistics and abuse prevention.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, receive a copy of your data and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] to exercise these rights. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).

Children

CV Makes is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
